CRICKET TURF

Smart Surface for Seamless Cricket Action

Remember playing cricket with a plastic rolled ball and random stick being a child? Energy for playing cricket never drained during those times. Lack of a flat ground or good equipment never mattered. Box cricket definitely raised talented players on the streets, but where did they all go?

‘Box Cricket’ refers to a form of street cricket that is played in India and other parts of South Asia. It is typically played in small alleyways, streets, or other open spaces that are not official cricket grounds. The rules of box cricket can vary depending on the location and the players and is generally considered a more informal and relaxed version of sport cricket, which allows the game to have fewer players than the sport.

Factors to be considered while construction of a commercial cricket ground

1. Dimension

Dimension can be determined as per the availability of the land area. Preference of at least 6000 sqft area. This can be either in rectangle or in oval shape.

2. Flooring material

a) Preferable option: Permanent cricket pitch of 15mm Multisport grass laid over the concrete surface and other areas can be of dynamic stone base with proper football grass.

b) Second option: Permanent cricket pitch with non-infill grass. (Non-infill grass refers to artificial turf or synthetic grass that doesn’t require infill material such as sand or rubber granules to support the blades and provide stability. Infill is commonly used in artificial turf installations to enhance durability, shock absorption, and to maintain the structure of the grass. However, non-infill grass is designed with specific characteristics or technology to eliminate the need for infill while still providing a realistic appearance and performance similar to natural grass. This type of synthetic grass may be preferred in certain applications where infill is undesirable or impractical.)

3. Height of the structure

Meckavo sports has constructed grounds up to a height of 70feet which is done in fabricated poles. The height of the ground totally depends on the area of the ground and the client budget.
